Reiki is a technique for stress relief and relaxation that promotes healing.
The word reiki is made up of two words: rei means universal and ki means life energy. It is administered by a Reiki Practitioner by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
The History of Reiki
Reiki energy has been active in the world since ancient times. Reiki was founded by Mikao Usui in 1922 on retreat. He had a spiritual awakening and felt a powerful light enter his crown. The light was a healing ability and it did drain his energy. He established a healing institute where Reiki was instructed publicly and treatments were offered. In 1923, there was an earthquake that was responsible for countless injuries and many people were in suffering. Usui offered his healing energy to as many of the sufferers as he possibly could and along with his students helped many people relieve their pain and heal. The Emperor Meiji of Japan recognized his devotion. As his reputation grew, he was offered many opportunities to travel and spread the knowledge of the Usui Reiki System of Healing. During his travels in 1926 he became severely ill and passed away. He was only 62 years old. In the short time between the inception of Reiki and his sudden death, he taught over 2,000 students.
What is Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki?
Holy Fire Reiki came to William Lee Rand during a healing session on January 23, 2014. When it was introduced to his students, they felt a stronger healing energy and were guided by a higher level of consciousness than previously experienced.
September 21, 2018, while conducting classes on Mount Kurama in Japan (where
Usui Sensei and was given the gift of Reiki, William Lee Rand founded a new level of Holy Fire® energy appeared (Holy Fire III). Those who had Holy Fire® II report that Holy Fire® III is a definite improvement over what they previously had. Many report that the energy feels both subtle and more powerful and that new healing is taking place, often on an extraordinary level.
The Holy Fire® III system of healing increases one’s quality of consciousness at the same time it provides an extraordinary healing experience.
What happens during an In-Person Reiki Session?
For your session, you will be laying on a massage table (or at a distance). The Reiki Practitioner places their hands on or just above your body in different hand positions. This channels universal life force energy. It helps you to get in touch with your physical self and the energy all around you. It also helps you to become more aware and connected.
What happens during a Distance Reiki Session?
Distance reiki is a technique that allows reiki to be shared over time and space. Healing can be sent to anyone, to situations or events, locations or time. Prior to each session, I will contact you to provide some at-home grounding techniques. This is a time to be quiet and meditate. Each reiki session lasts 45-minutes and you will receive a video message from me of observations and an oracle card reading. On
